I never would have thought just a week later after this...
...i would be combatting the flu, or a really terrible cold, or whatever it is going on inside of me. The weekend with the gals was so wonderful, celebrating Jessica's new step in life of her upcoming marriage! Maybe enjoying the 4pm Bloody Mary in a hot tub on the deck of a cabin in the middle of Tennessee woods was just too good to be true.
Nah. it was most enjoyable. and this sickness is not.
Nonsense seems to be coming out of me due to a dizziness and acheiness my body is experiencing. Cabin fever has set in. Today i ventured to our local chain grocery store, Valu-Market to pick up some carrots, almond milk and tomatoes. This is so i can have the freedom to make some carrot ginger soup, a spinach, orange & almond milk smoothie, or a chick pea salad at my desire. And this all depends on my energy level at time of craving.
I tend to wonder why sickness hits me as much as it does. I eat mostly like a rabbit, am active and keep a clean house. It just doesn't make sense to me. I'm holding tight onto my echinacea tincture and garlic and my Traditional Medicinal Teas these past few days and determined to start feeling some type of wellness...by tomorrow.
I'm thankful for a wonderful man who brought a whole twelve pack of the one and only, kentucky native Ale-8-One's, and the right box of crackers that are absent of the much loathed high fructose corn syrup. Yesterday was a day of reading, Radiolab listening and napping, with tim right there to help me out. when he left to attend church in the evening, i was so bummed that i was too sick to go. the service was full of baptisms and nepalese praise songs. and here i was, in bed, at home. but tim lovingly texted me photos of the baptisms so i could feel somewhat apart of this wonderful celebration.
today is halfway done, and i hope for an early bed time. tomorrow is back to nannying (no worries, talked to mom and she's fine with me watching her kids, who are fighting something too) and a one year celebration that Tim and I share! Explosions in the Sky wait for us...and i must be well!!! Then we both took wednesday off to take a day trip, to well, somewhere. Since our schedules changed a few months ago, we don't have any of the same off days, except sundays. We're super excited to have a day off to share together. See, i HAVE to be well!
Excuse my cabin fever, but it was nice chatting. Ginger tea, a lemon loaf and Chronicles of a Modern Midwife await me. Watch out for those sly colds and flu's floating around.
