Life has been eventful, exciting...and well happening for us Strader's...note to not updating our blog in a good while. One great thing that has been happening is our back yard bee hive. I'd love to share:
We picked the girls up the first weekend of April from Walter T. Kelley Company. Thankfully it's just a beautiful 2 hour drive south. This was much easier than catching the wild swarm...just sayin.
Tim is great at tending to the bees. This was one of the first 'smokings' of the season. They know him so well that he doesn't even wear his hat and gloves when smoking them this past month!
A piece of the comb fell off while inspecting. We learned not to be so invasive and let them have more time to work in between us checking in on them. We did get our first taste of that sweet honey they're working on!
We are so thankful to the life happening in our backyard. The bees are so sweet and docile. The ladies are a lot of fun to watch...and have been a blessing to our garden as well!
