The month of June was Eben's 2nd month of life. With that, Tim celebrated his first Father's Day! Because babies make you go with the flow, our planned trip to Brighton Beach had to be postponed. Eben decided to grow exponentially that day and eat...and eat...and eat and sleep all day. So a nice walk through Prospect Park happened instead.
BUT, I knew Tim was REALLY looking forward to going to the beach. So we made it happen that following Thursday. We took a quick train ride down to Brighton Beach. We ate lunch at a local Russian diner and then hit the boardwalk. The sand felt so good in between my toes, but the water was so cold! The water did feel really good on my feet, being the hottest day of the year so far. Tim even went for a short swim! And Eben just slept through it all...
Eben is getting so big! He's having so many firsts this past month. He is starting to recognize his toys and reach and interact with them. It really is so cool to watch.
Besides going to the beach, Eben has had many other firsts this past month:
-He reaches towards Mama and Daddy.
-He smiles back!
-He talks! Ok, not really, but we can now go back and forth with Eben and he will mimic our sounds.
-He rode in his stroller for the first time.
-Nursed on the subway (which was extremely stressful! Oh the pangs of being a mama in NYC.)
-First trip to Manhattan.
-First church service, which he did so great!
He also loves being outside and looking at the leaves on the branches above, music with a beat, and being sung to. I just love learning about this little guy!
